PELAGIC BIRDING TRIPS
New for 2025! Come aboard the "Gulf Eagle" out of Deep-Sea Headquarters in Port Aransas, TX for an exciting pelagic birding experience. The Gulf Eagle is a 72 foot offshore boat that ventures up to 200 miles offshore. These trips provide a rare opportunity to see pelagic bird species that are rarely seen from land. You may also encounter rare marine mammals, which are seldom seen in the Gulf.
We are offering 6 different pelagic trips in 2025. We will have 4 12 hour trips and 2 48 hour trips scheduled this year.
The 12 hour trips will leave at 6am and get back to the dock at 6pm. These trips give you about 5-6 hours of birding in the deep water off the continental shelf. We need at least 12 people to sign up to make the trip go and we will have a maximum of 40 people on board.
The 48 hour trips will leave on Friday at 6am and return on Sunday at 6am. These trips offer a very rare opportunity to spend almost 2 full days in the deep water off the Texas coast. Everyone on board would have their own bunk and may bring ice chests with food and drinks. These trips are a must for experienced birders looking to add to their life list.
